Home staging has really come in to its own over the last couple of years. In fact, there are many professional businesses and real estate agents, realtors and other professionals that are getting in on it. But I often wondered, does it really make sense? I mean, do you really get enough of a benefit to justify the costs?
Well, according to a recent article by AGBeat, you do. Check out what they have to say about it:
According to the Real Estate Staging Association, homes that were vacant and professionally staged sold 68% faster in 2007, 85% faster in 2008 and in 2009 they sold 78% faster (with 2010 results pending).
Seventy eight percent faster? That’s incredible to me. And while there aren’t a lot of things you can do to your house to increase its value (other than adding square footage, or a pool, or a garage, etc.), for many people, being able to sell the home quickly, and for close to market value, is exactly what they are looking for…
