In a recent study by the University of Virginia of approximately 1,000 couples between the ages of 18-45, 34% were worried about being able to make their bills, and 12% are facing foreclosure. Now I always assumed that one of the leading causes of divorce was related to financial problems.
That’s why I was shocked when I saw this statement:
Yet when asked if they had considered divorce or separation, but put it aside as a result of the recession, 38 percent said they did just that.
So apparently, couples are postponing their divorce until they can get into a more favorable financial position. Huh?!?
