The major downside of investing in real estate is liquidity, i.e. when you invest in a property, your money is tied up, and sometimes it can be difficult to get the property sold, and your investment released. However, all else being equally, I would take a cash offer over a financed offer on my property any day of the week.

That’s just what a lot of investors, especially foreign investors, are doing right now. Seizing the opportunity on distressed properties and the relatively low value of the American dollar right now, these guys are gobbling up real estate right now. Some experts believe that this can hurt other traditional buyers from being able to compete – and I agree.
